my cumulative GPA is 101.7567 weighted as of the end of junior year.

AP bio (received a 90 and a 3 on the exam) in sophomore year
AP english lang and comp (95 and 3 on the exam) in junior year
and am currently taking AP studio art, AP english lit, AP calc AB, and AP psychology.
i'm ranked 12/285, which is bad, i know, but i didn't even care about school until last year. /: i really regret this. i'll probably advance, say, one space by end of this semester.

my SAT scores are TERRIBLE, but i plan on retaking both the SAT I and SAT subject tests.
580 in math, 670 in critical reading, and 640 in writing.
590 in biology m. unspeakable math and biology scores, i know. ><

if diversity helps, i'm a canadian citizen and asian-american.

one of my friends says that i don't have so great of a chance. /: she didn't have any grounds on why, though.

are you being serious about your standardized test scores? Those are really great scores and 12th in your class is really good.

Your AP tests that you have taken though, will not get you any credit at Penn State. They require at least a 4 for min. credit.

well, the cutoffs for the others school are like 600 upwards...
and all my friends have a 2000+ SAT score too. 1890 looks sad next to them. /: maybe that's why i feel like they're so horrible.
and about the ranking... i didn't care about my rank until i found out that i was ranked 14th or so at the end of 10th grade.
so i wanted to get higher and managed a 103.9 GPA at the end of 11th grade, advancing two places. this is probably just because i took 2 AP classes that year, though.

because my supporting documents won't be sent in until the end of this week, does that mean i really will hear back AFTER march 30th?

ur SAT scores cud drag you down, well math and bio. Ur AP grades are fine, not a very demanding schedule till this year tho cud hurt you. I think u can get in tho. I got in, you can check my chance thread and hopefully chance back.

Unless you are trying for Schreyer's your chances look good to me.

well, i have to agree with my schedule not being demanding until this year. it certainly didn't look like it in freshman year, although i was taking english off-campus through another program at a local college. i dropped out of that program the next year, though. the homework for that was worse than an AP class.

junior year i took honors trig, AP english, honors chem/phys, and honors civics as core classes. i think that it is somewhat rigorous for what my school offers to juniors. my school pretty much forces all AP subjects to be taken in your senior year. the only AP classes I haven't taken at my school are AP US History (which was impossible due to scheduling conflicts) and AP Environmental(which just began this year). Oh, and I guess you can count AP Chem.

for the first month or so of this school year, i had been taking AP Chem, AP Calculus, AP English, AP Psychology, and AP Studio. it was too time consuming since i had been working 4+ days a week (shifts are from 4 to 10 or 11 PM) so i had to switch AP chem to two general business classes instead...
