Large legacy at Stanford, how much, if at all, will that help?

Someone please give me insight?

help..............

It sounds like you have a great application, and will be very competitive in the admissions process. As a high school senior who's also applying to Stanford, I assure you that I know no more than you do and that ultimately my opinion is of no value.

To be honest, what truly stands out to me in your application is the fact that you raised 2,500 dollars for a student with brain cancer. That shows a lot of compassion, and I think Stanford will care a lot more about that than about your grades/scores, which inevitably falls in the middle 50% for most people that apply regardless of how high they are.

Personally, I think you have a much better chance than I do. Regardless of whether or not you get in, be proud of what you've accomplished these last four years. Not everyone has been able to help a family like you have; I think it's a great accomplishment.

I'm assuming that if you have a California Scholarship you live in California, which is almost essential because they don't let in a lot of out of state people. Your stats are good although i'd hope you're taking more AP classes. Id give you a 60% chance. I'm curious if you got a 4.0 on a A,B,C,D,F scale or with +'s and minuses.

I am a California resident, and taking as many ap classes as my school will allow. This year I am taking 3 ap classes and 1 honors class, and next year my course load will include 5 ap classes. My grades do contain + and -, and I would say I fall somewhere in between.

Thank you both for your help!

wow, i think you're definitely in!
especially since you're CA and legacy (not to mention the good stats and the really cool extracurricular w/ the brain cancer patient's family! thats sweet!)
good luck!

thanks! I hope so...
any other opinions?

Well this is not to make you loose any hope but ill tell you about some one. Hes rank 2 at my school 4.0 uw 4.6 w 36 act score 800 in physics, math 2, and some other subject. Early app and got denied. Lol and i thought it was easier early app.
