Played intramural basketball every year.
Joined the robotics team this year.

I want to major in political science.
What are my chances to get in to University of Central Florida if I apply early action? How much financial aid/scholarships (if any) would I receive?

You wont get financial aid based on need. You can get bright futures and any aid based on your sat/act scores. Chances are fair but they weight the same for early action as long as you are just as competitive as a senior.

Chances are good as long as you get a competive SAT/ACT score for UCF.

Here is the link to information on scholarships.

durak: The OP is out of state and not eligible for bright futures.

good chance i'd say

i got a 1330/1920 on my sat and my class rank is 25%. i’m out of state, as mentioned before. if i get in, how much would i be paying with tuition, room and board, and fees?

I’d say you appear to be a lock with your SAT score and your decent GPA. According to UCF’s website, it costs about $19,426 a year for out of state residents (the cost is based on 15 credits per semester, it will be cheaper if you take less courses). Fees for out of state are aroudn $1,200, dorm should be around $4000 each year (give or take a few hundred depending if you get a smaller dorm or more expensive for apartment style) Food is up to you, the usual estimate is that food is around another $4000. If you plan to live on campus like a I will, I recommend looking into meal plans. UCF offers different scholarships for out of state students than they do for in state since the cost is different so I can’t tell you how much you might get for them since I’m a Florida resident. I have a 5.16 GPA and 1420/2050 SAT so they gave me the Pegasus Gold which is $10,000 to be split over 8 semesters. I’m sure you’ll do fine and you should strongly consider UCF as your choice next year

Just an extra note, when you apply for UCF also apply for their Honors College. You seem like a great candidate for it. It’s a seperate application and requires you to send them a seperate transcript than the one you will send UCF but they will share SAT info so don’t worry about that. There is no fee to apply to the Honors College. It’s a great program from what I’ve heard and everyone seems to love it, You have smaller class sizes, exclusive access to the Towers apartments, and other perks. It’s competetive to get in but makes your experience at UCF even better. I got accepted and will be joining UCF and the Burnett Honors College this fall.
