Chances

Okay, so I admit I used to find these chance threads very annoying and it seemed like everyone posting just wanted acknowledgment of their amazingness and were fishing for compliments, but I am so sick of waiting that I'm wondering if someone could chance me for Emory......okay, here I go:

SAT I: 2200
GPA uw: 3.87
-I don't know rank, but I go to a competitive college prep school in St. Paul, Minnesota and have taken the most rigorous course load available and plan to take another math class this summer (which I noted in my "additional information" section).

Varsity sports:
Soccer - 4 years (all conference 3 years, captain senior year, top GPA on team/academic excellence award)
Basketball - 4 years (captain 2 years, all-conference 3 years, about 1,700 pts. in career - all-time leading scorer @ my school)
Track -4 years, various awards, all-conference 2 years, hold 1600m record (but just for girls haha).

EC:
Math Club (club leader 11, 12)
Science Club (leader 11, 12)
MOSAIC Diversity Club (leader 11,12)
Environmental Club (Leader 11,12)
Amnesty International
Tutors' Guild

300+ hours of community service (including service trips to Mexico and Tanzania, wrote about Tanzania for CommonApp essay)
-various projects on my reservation; raise money and awareness at my school

Jobs:
US Soccer certified referee - grade 8 (since 10th grade)
job at German Christmas store since beginning of 11th grade

Essays:
I really liked all of them. As I said, main one is about what I learned in Tanzania.
Why Emory? was personal and demonstrative of my interest. I liked that a lot as well.

Recs:
I know all three very well and I was even called by an admissions rep (for a school to which I've been accepted) and told that they were "fantastic".

Other Factors:
American Indian and quite involved with my tribe. I've spoken with my Emory admissions officer about this and he seemed quite excited about it and said he would add "something" to my file.....I don't know what this means.

Chance me for these schools as well (if you want to):
-Washington University in St. Louis
-Duke
-Northwestern
-Vanderbilt
-Stanford

Also, do you think I have any chances at getting invites to any of these schools "multicultural weekends" or a likely letter? I dunno.....any input is appreciated! Wado!

What do you guys think? And, honestly, I am not trying to fish for compliments, I'm just very anxious! Thanks for reading this and good luck to all!!!

i think you have an excellent chance. your SATs are good and it seems like your ECs are above average as well. being indian doesnt hurt either :)

Thanks! But surely you mean Native American or American Indian, yes? haha, we and Eastern Indians don’t want confusion! :).

SAT is good…extracurriculars are a lot, which is good also…and you do have a interest in going to emory…i’d say you have a shot! Good luck

Your in fo sho

Thanks for reading (and chancing)!
