<p>I am currently a junior in New Jersey. I am applying to Penn ED and really have my heart set on that school. I was just wondering what my chances are at Swarthmore RD if i do not get into Penn.</p>

CR-730
Writing 710</p>
<p>SAT II:
Biology M- 750
Am History- take in may
Math II- take in may</p>
<p>APs(taking some of these senior year):
History(one and two), English (2years), Biology, Chem, Gov and politics, calculus
(the rest i have taken are honors)</p>
<p>GPA: 3.9/4.9w </p>
<p>Extra cirriculars and other:
Math/Science league (starter), medical club (vice president/ president next year), Environmental club, contributor to school newspaper, volunteer at library and hospital, NHS, French NHS, french club, Writing wksp tutor, T.E.A.M (peer leadership group), buddy club, work at ice rink/ day care for two years, junior scholars of america (aka, debate club)... and more</p>
<p>Without the most fundamental information – like type of high school, class rank, ethnicity, etc. – it’s impossible to give you any kind of guess about admissions chances. Having said that, I would say that your odds are probably better for Penn ED than for Swarthmore RD.</p>
<p>For the most part, people who have their “heart set on Swarthmore” tend to do better in admissions than people who don’t. I think it has a lot to do with the quality of the application. People who get accepted RD without being ga-ga about Swarthmore seem to generally be very, very strong applicants.</p>
<p>I cannot understand Penn ED and Swarthmore RD. What do they have in common? One is in Philly and one is in a suburb of Philly. The former has ~20,000 students on a campus in the city, the latter has <1,500 students on an idyllic suburban campus. They are both outstanding schools, but what is the common thread for you?</p>
<p>^ i never said i was really interested in swarthmore. I was just wondering what my chances were. I was just curious.</p>
