Hello everyone out there. I applied to Stern and I'm a senior that goes to a public high school in LaGrange, New York(it's an hour and a half north of the city). It is getting near that time and some of my friends have already been accepted. I was wondering what my chances would be. I have a 98 GPA with a total of 5 AP's, taken, and 5 Honors classes. I have a low ACT score however, with a lowly 27. I have many extracurriculars though. I'm president of the local chapter of the National Honor Society (There are nearly 200 members, yeah, i go to a big school). I was an front office intern for 2 seasons for a local minor league baseball team (Hudson Valley Renegades, if you have ever heard of them). I have recently been informed that I am in the last pool of applicants to be a front office intern for the New York Yankees. I am captain of the Varsity Boy's Tennis Team, Secretary and Treasurer of the Spanish Club and Staff Writer for the school newspaper. I plan to go to school for Sports Management, and my internship shows that I have already shown not only an interest, but a determined effort to enter the business sector. Now that you have heard my life story, what do you think my chances are? I am posting here because I already wrote this on a Cornell thread, and a few said that I would be a good fit here. Don't be bitter or (on the other side of the spectrum) too kind with your criticism.

Come on people. Talk, 73 views without a single post. I don’t care if you slap me down, or think that I am a shoe-in. Just tell me something. This silence is making me nervous. =)

I feel bad for you because you seem so nervous. And I have definitely seen this post somewhere else. Umm… very good GPA (UW???) and AP/Honors Curriculum. ACT is pretty low for NYU, but not like shockingly low. Average is probably 28-31 (25-75%) so you have a shot. And good extracurrics.

Like a pretty good shot, low reach I would say. Best wishes!

Any chance you went to AHS? That’s where I graduated from in 2008. I’m now an Ahtletic Training major at Marywood University. It’s a great field. From what I see you definitly have a great chance of getting into where you want. I actually found your post because I’m looking for internships this summer. Did you like working with the Renegades?? Because I was thinking about it.
