Chances

Hey, wondering if you guys could give me some input on my chances for admission at a few schools. I'm applying to UNC CH, UVA, Wake Forest, USC (Southern Cali not Carolina), and NYU. Right now I'm at a smaller private uni in the northeast and am not enjoying it at all, I'm nervous that I might be stuck there another year now.

stats:
3.24 HS GPA (upward sloping though, 3.0-3.1 fresh. and sophomore year and 3.4-3.5 junior and 3.65 senior)
2100 SAT (630 CR 700 Math 770 Writing)
640 SAT II Physics and 740 SAT II Math
4 on AP Spanish and AP Physics
3.74 GPA first semester at college

ECs/Work:
2 years as a volunteer summer camps counselor in training (fresh/soph year, 35 hours a week 8 weeks)
2 years as a summer camp counselor (junior/senior year, 35 hours a week 8 weeks)
2 years as an after school counselor (junior/senior year, 20 hours a week)
20 hours community service through service learning first semester at college
3 other clubs at college
received 2 accounting awards/scholarships as a senior, one from a local accounting firm and one from the connecticut society of CPAs

Recs:
One really good one from a professor, she mentioned I was in the top 1% of students she has taught in her over 20 years
Also for UNC CH I have a rec from a family friend who attended, is friends with the dean of admissions and who donated a building on campus

bump, anyone?

It looks like you are applying as a Business Administration or Commerce major. On that note I would say that you have a good chance, taking into account if you finished the prereqs for those colleges you are applying to.

UNC Chapel Hill - (pre-business) I believe you can be able to get in because I know a friend that had similar stats as yours but a bit lower.
USC - (Marshall) their average is a 3.8 GPA so it looks like you might have a chance depending if you finished the prereqs.
UVA - (McIntire) Chances are still pretty tough even though your GPA is solid. Commerce is really selective about who they admit.
NYU - (Stern) Chances are a bit similar to UVA. Stern is extremely selective.

As for Wakeforest I don't really know to much about them.

Sophomore transferring tends to be really hard but I believe you have a geat shot at UNC and probably USC. As long as you fulfilled the prereqs (Macro & Micro Econ, Business Calculus or Calculus or Statistics, the two Acctg courses, and 2 English courses) which I believe would fit all the schools you are applying to UNC, USC, UVA, NYU, and probably Wakeforest.

Don't stress out and good luck.
