I most strongly encourage you to complete your Eagle Scout project and achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. This in and of itself is a significant leadership accomplishment. Per the link above, while nearly 40% of the entering Class of 2012 were involved in Scouting, only 15% of those admitted achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Make yourself shine!

Congratulations on being accepted to attend SLS. It’s an excellent program, and was the clincher for our son. You will take the Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA) on the second morning of SLS. If you pass the CFA you may use that score for your WP application. You have about two months remaining before SLS to prepare. I recommend you practice each CFA event daily so as to pass with flying colors when they test you on day #2. That was our son’s strategy and it paid BIG dividends. Numerous kids did not pass the CFA, and most admitted to not practicing. Practice makes perfect, or as we used to say, “you fight like you train.” My advice is to start training now!
