bump.......................

I'd say you have very good chances, especially considering you're only a sophomore. Keep it up and you should be fine.

Although I don't understand how you're a four year varsity tennis player and national honor society president as a sophomore... ?

you are a sophmore.. why are you talking about excellent recommendations and good essays? and evaluating your chances NOW? you have a while. slow down.

Agreed. It's high school, you should be enjoying yourself right now. Take it easy now and hit the college apps hard at the end of your junior year.

I'd also like to check my chances with you guys.

Thanks for reading all that, and I know I don't stand out as much as other people do. Your honest opinions will be much appreciated!

65.... w.e., I think your chances are great. I got in RD with a 1450, so ED you are good to go.

Hmm thanks for that positive reply. I'm worried that the essay length will hurt my chances, even though people say it's great. How long was yours and do you think I should really really try to get it under 500 words?

65- I wouldn't worry about words count too much, I applied this past year and my essay was about 680 words and I still got in. I don't think they'll have a problem with it as long as every single word is used effectively. For my topic, I just found it impossible to go under or meet 500!

I know it's impossible. There is no way my essay can be the same under 500 words.
