THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

I wish I made my title more interesting…

Good application – you have what it takes, I imagine. If I were an admissions officer, I’d be happy with a lot of what you’re doing senior year.

Now you have to turn your love for technical subjects into something marketable to the school. If you somehow manage that, good chances – but it’s not so easy to predict what MIT is looking for sometimes. Nevertheless, I’m sure whoever reads your application there will have lots of respect for you.

Thank you!

anyone else?

MIT is pretty ridiculous to get into, but I would say that you have a fair shot at getting admitted. The class rank will definitely hurt, but at least you’re improving and showing a lot of passion in various things, which the admissions people will love. I would just make sure that your essays really depict you as a person, and hope for the best. Good Luck :)

Thanks. Does anyone know when the actual MIT app comes out? I plan to apply EA.

late summer

It’s hard to tell what to make of a school like yours, and transferring complicates things… I think you’d get the most accurate idea by looking at how other people from your school do.

This year we had 6 ppl make it to MIT, but most of the students were ridiculous. One was Wen who won first place at Siemens, another kid was a math whiz, two were twins with like a triple legacy, some kid who had like some major financial obstacles that he faced, and then there was some other person that I could probably relate to in terms of stats.

For goodness’ sake, don’t retake the ACT.

haha too late I already signed up for next week’s ACT

BTW, anyone have the old MIT app PDFs?

^lol are you planning on writing your essays early?

Haha, yeah, I like to have plans, and it’s hard to plan without knowing whats ahead.

I know what you mean. I’m planning to finish the app before school starts as well.

I checked the website…I think only teacher rec forms are up…but I dont think its that much different than the common app, besides that it has only 5 spaces for ECs and 7 for awards (my friend told me when I asked him)

I thought MIT actually had their own essay prompts though…

^I think you can search for them on CC…but thye wont repeat will they?

I’m not sure, but I feel like I heard somewhere that the past two MIT apps have had the same essay topics.
