AP: 5 5s so far, should have 6 more 4-5s

GPA:
UW: 4.00 with 11 APs taken so far (#1 in my class)
Rank: We dont rank but should be top 0.5%
W: Like 4.5+, probably #1 in my class (we weight and I have all As but I forgot my exact GPA)

Junior Schedule:
Multivariable Calc (only junior at my school to take this---mainly because I was the only one without a schedule conflict, but no one will know that)
AP Physics B (took the AP physics B and AP Physics C exam, the C exam at a later date)
AP English Lit
AP Chem
APUSH
Symphony Orchestra (top orchestra in top orchestra program in my state-we were state champs)
Self studied AP Computer Science A

Senior Schedule:
Dont know but 3-4 AP classes, maybe taking Linear Algebra at college, and maybe 1st violin in Symphony Orchestra

ECs:

Newspaper-Chief Programmer on the webteam for a nationally ranked newspaper (3 years, not allwed freshman year)

Orchestra-Symphony Orchestra-one of the best orchestras in the nation
Vice President of Orchestra Club (4 years), Orchestra is like 2 credits, as its 6 hours per week after school and 6 hours in school

AIME 2 years
Science Olympiad State Medals
National Merit Semifinalist
Should be National AP Scholar unless something goes wrong

Hopeful Siemens Award in Research (Consider no award and Reg. Finalist Award--im doing a group project)

Self-Analysis:
I have big leadership positions in a pretty large school, and I have some varied science awards...and I might send in a recording for violin (I have played solos before at big concerts)

I am applying to MIT early
I am also an Asian Male, First generation.

Oh yea, I live in south Michigan…our school isnt really competitive.

I think you have about a 1 in 4-5 shot

hehe atleast thats above the 10% normal shot.

What if I do well in Siemens? And one more question…I dont really mind if I dont win, but do colleges allow us to send research papers? The entire ones or abstracts?

You have a better shot than ham said. I’d say it’s about a 45 percent chance you get accepted.

MIT allows you to send any supplemental material you would like to send. They prefer that you send abstracts rather than full papers.

^k thanks;

and I forogt to add in my little chance thing that I can also play cricket (i dont know if thats an MIT sport, probably not) fairly well, and I am also on my school’s swim team but only JV and will never be recruited into any college, D-III or not.

Also I am Indian, first generation, non-US citizen.

You didn’t list your SAT1 breakup; If it is 800(M) and 800 (CR) then your chances are quite good during EA otherwise expect defer in EA.
It is based on this year results among the Asian Indian US Citizens applicants. Being a non-citizen puts you in a bad situation unless you are a green card holder.

Are you going to do summer research as part of a selective program? Being from Michigan should help you but it will be better if you write essays that bring out your passion for science/math. Is the reserach related to your prospective major? Send in the research paper irrespective of whether or not you make it to Siemens.
