What college are you applying too?

im applying to UIUC

Not Bad!
Pretty good scores.
But where do you wanna go/field of study/major in college. Matter more than your scores.

Good Luck!

It depends on what college (within UIUC) you’re applying to. Some of them are more competitive than others.

And what’s your class rank? GPA? Extra Curricular stuff? Do you have a job? We need more information to accurately chance you.

gpas a 3.8/4 weighted

and decent ECs

What college within the University are you applying to? Some colleges like the School of Engineering or the School of Business are tougher to get into.

engineering

3.8/4 weighted?? What’s your unweighted GPA? A 3.8 UW GPA would be a green light for Engineering. Not so sure about a 3.8 W…

Also the middle 50% for Engineering for SAT is 1880 - 2140, which means you are on the lower end.

Hopefully you have great ECs

UIUC doesn’t take writing scores into account, so the SAT range listed on UIUC website might be somewhat misleading.

All the same. The SAT converts to roughly a 30 ACT I would say and that is still the bottom of the 50% range posted on the website.

UIUC accept you based on how exceptional you are, and how likely you’ll succeed in the future. based of your given information your in, most likely. I had a 3.2(UW)…so around top 25% in class and a 25 on ACT and i got into UIUC’s Electrical Engineering major (top 4 in nation) :] Just make sure you have an amazing essay, i think that’s what got me in ;] Also having a special talent or specialty in your specific major, like past experience or an internship. There are a lot of thing that college look at other than your GPA and Exam score.

I’m going into my junior year and I really want to go to UCLA or USC. This upcoming junior year I’m taking DE US history, AP english, chemistry, algebra 2 and student council. Freshman and sophomore year i took all the basic classes no AP or pre AP classes. So it was algebra 1, world history, spanish 1,spanish 2,geometry, english 9,10 and some electives. I played varsity basketball 1 year and I’m in a summer hoops like and have been in for two years and plan on it for two more year. I have volunteered for a junior high volleyball team for two years and will also do that for two more years. Also i did some tutoring not much but some in english. I want to get a summer job next summer but I don’t know what would look good on an application Any suggestions? Also any good ideas for volunteer work?

I had a 3.5 GPA freshman year and a 3.75 sophomore year both UW. Assuming I have a solid GPA the next two years get a good summer job and do about 150 hours of volunteer work along with writing good essays(which I know I can do) and getting good scores on my ACT and SAT what are my chances at UCLA,USC,UCSB,UCSD,UOFA,NYU,Oregon.
