chances?

old SAT (jan): 1400 (760M/640M)
new SAT(june):2140 (760M/670CR/710WR)

international student(nepal)

A levels (Phy, Chem, Math)
AS levels(Eng lang&lit, Env mgmt)*
grades: hopefully most A's and a couple of B's

average EC's, i.e. nothing extraordinary
lots of community service/voluntary work
some work experience

probable major: mechanical engineering

SO? WHAT ARE MY CHANCES? supposing I applied ED2?
would my chances be the same if i applied RD?

Thanks a lot...

*for those not in the know, AS levels are one year courses whereas A levels are two year courses. However both A level courses and AS level courses lead to an A level diploma.

Show LOTS AND LOTS of interest. Frankly, i'm quite surprised that washU accepted me, much less, gave me a scholarship. :)

you visit a lot of times, contact them a lot, and you'll get in. Plus ur grades aren't too bad. :) Keep your hopes up. Getting into top schools isn't as difficult as you say.

thanks...
maybe i'll flood them with emails then, since i can't get to visit WU. lol
yea, and i forgot to mention, i'll need some aid too!

well don't give them the feeling you're crazy. :)

go to the financial aid office. I know when I got a Dean's Honorary Scholarship of 6000 dollars, it wasn't enough so i talked to the financial aid people and they boosted it by 4000.

But by this time, most of the scholarship money is gone tho...

if they accept me ED2, will they be obligated to give me all the money i need? well i mean in scholarships etc.

scholarships will only be given out in 6000 parcels unless you get some of the very rare other distinguished scholarships. :)

i'm not sure about early decision. Thats only if ur fanatical about WashU
