Thanks!

You should be fine. If you get your SATs up, then your definitely in.

Hey nkskipper - East Greenwich here. Wild guess that you are in North Kingstown, lol.

I agree you should be fine for getting accepted. If you can somehow get your SAT’s up about 20-30 on each test and nail your essay (can’t emphasize enough to get your essay drafted well ahead of time and then work with a teacher you like and respect on polishing it, and making sure there are no big spelling/grammar errors) you have a decent shot at some scholarship money also. Have you been to visit yet?

haha yeah that is weird, especially for a school in louisiana.

I haven’t gone to visit yet, but plan to this fall.

hey i got in but im definately not going to pay around 50k a year to go there so what is the possibility of me getting any merit money? i hope they’re good at giving out scholarships!

They are very good about it. There was a guy on the Accepted thread that had very similar stats to yours and also the sports hook, and was from Maine. He got $15K. Of course that doesn’t mean you will, there are a lot of factors, but at least there is that occurance out there already.

thanks, anyone else?

also, I haven’t gotten a letter of acceptance yet, just found out on the website application status page…so how long after I find out online should I expect a letter? and does scholarship information come with this letter or sometime after?

The scholarship info is in the letter, and you should get it by mid-December. Probably sooner, but I would think no later.

BTW, did you have a chance to visit?

mid-december even though I was accepted last week?

and I haven’t yet, I’m going to wait on the scholarship info.

well, it usually takes only a week or two, but there was Thanksgiving, so I was just giving worst case. Most likely you will get it this week.
