1350+ and 95+ is seriously overkill but will definitely guarantee admission. you will need higher than a 1210 though (although i know people with much less than a 1210 that are going there)

honestly. i know many people with FAR lower stats than you that get into binghamton.

shoot for 1250+ & top 10% though. good luck

As I have told all the other people who post their stats on here, there is no one factor that will guarantee your admission to the University. Although a good GPA and SAT score are factors that help, the Admissions office looks at various things as well. Here is from the admissions website:

“ADMISSIONS CRITERIA
Strength of high school record, including rigor of classes, GPA and class rank
Depth and overall quality of application essay
Level of involvement in extracurricular activities
Strength of standardized test scores (SAT or ACT). NOTE about SAT scores: Please have your scores sent to us by the College Board.
Unique skills or talents that will enhance the Binghamton community
Proven ability to think and act independently
Ability to overcome difficult personal or financial circumstances to succeed”

that’s really odd to be honest, they probably had some other deficiency on their applications. it’s a tough school to get into but by no means does it require a 1350+ 95+. absolutely no way. a 1350 has to be towards bings 75th percentile. and of course you’d be safe being near the 75th percentile…

in my class there were 12 kids accepted to binghamton. none of which broke 1250 (some of which didn’t even break 1200) of the 12, 5 of them were URMs. 1 of the URMs was my class’s sal. only the val and sal of my class had above a 95 (i was 3rd with a 94.95)

a lot of them however applied EA and then were deferred to RD. (i actually think only two of them were accepted EA)

but honestly, i think you’re exaggerating the difficulty of admission. it’s difficult, but not to that extent.

I wasn’t trying to exaggerate anything…I was answering the OP’s question to the best of my knowledge. That said, I did apply to SOM…also got into Stern(see you’re in NYU)…maybe the business school has different requirements?? I don’t have any idea what the other kids applications looked like, the only thing I know is what they told me…that the SAT’s were in the 1200’s and they were denied, avgs low 90’s…some were EA, some RD…I applied EA and my SAT’s were 1450…I ranked 23 with an 96.6 average…

sorry, i didn’t say you were trying to. it just seemed exaggerated to me. i know you’re just speaking based on your experience. i’m sure we just dealt with two extremes.
