Chances?

<p>Hi everyone, just hoping for some opinions. Thanks. I'm a rising senior, white girl from suburbia NY</p>

<p>I think I'm going to apply ED to Duke- does this increase my chanceS?</p>

Safeties: Bucknell, Union, U of Rochester, U of Richmond</p>

SAT- 670 M, 790 W, 740 CR (2200)
SAT IIs- 730 Writing (only counts at Gtown), 660 World, 700 Math IC, 600 American (I know they suck, but for some of the schools I dont have to send them. Also I'm going to take at least one more in Oct.)
PSAT- 214</p>

US History- 4
English Lang- 4</p>

<p>next year: AP Chem, AP Calc AB, AP Latin, AP English Lit
(all my other courses are mostly honors)</p>

<p>GPA: 4.0+ (top 100 public high school in the country)</p>

Mostly tennis, I play USTA tournaments and have a eastern section ranking. I am and have been first singles on the varsity team since 10th grade. 9th grade I was 3rd singles. I am going to be captain of my team next year. I played in the World Team Tennis National Tournament last summer (one of 6 to represent the eastern team).
Band: I play percussion (unique for a girl?). Band treasurer 11, 12. I am in Tri M (musical honors society) and treasurer 12.
I have been in Model UN 9, 10, 11, 12 and am President next year.
I am in NHS.
I am in Spanish Club 9, 10, 11, 12.
I am in Interact Club (Community service) 11, 12.</p>

Girl Scout Gold Award- to be completed fall of next year. Raised 1000+ books for homeless children.
Teach children tennis at Boys and Girls Club
Volunteer for Church (midnight run included)</p>

<p>yes, I agree with Brenner. I think the tennis will help you a lot more than you may think..it shows determination and to an extent individual pursuit..</p>

<p>excellent chances. although, i had a friend who was ranked 3rd, SATs 1520 and adequate extracurriculars but got waitlisted to the college. i had another friend who had low SATs (low 1300s), wasn't ranked so high but got into the school of business. he was, of course, involved with A LOT of extracur. just nail your alumni interview and show dedication to going to GU and you're pratically in.</p>
