Yeah I think you’re in. You have an avg. GPA but good SATs and good ECs.

Now as for into the business school I’m not sure. Your GPA is a bit low but your ECs and your math SAT are excellent. I would say you have more than a 50% chance of getting in but you’re not in for sure.

I’m a professional college consultant (too much time on my hands during the summer) It’s a good “match” (unless You write your essay on your universal hatred of Ad coms and college administrators). Business School is more competitive, but your still looking good with strong test scores and decent EC’s

OK nice so does that mean I am a match for the business school?

can i get some other intake?

I am going to say maybe match. UMD has alot of NJ/NY kids and they are trying to break away from the majority of the OOS coming from that area and expand out to other states for more diversity. The reason I say maybe match is that you do not have a lot of AP’s and thus your w gpa is low compared to others, many are typically in the 4.0+ range. Your SAT is strong and your EC’s are good.

With the past 3 yrs MD has become more competitive, last yr they had over 29K applicants. Smith is ranked number 18 in the world so it is very competitive, and I would say it would be a reach for you, esp. since you have no leadership positions in your ECs.

With all of that said throw my opinion in the circular filing cabinet. There were kids here last yr that we thought were perfect matches and they didn’t even get spring admittance, and there were kids that people said def reach and they got in with merit money. None of us sit on the admission boards, so we really can’t say, all we can say is what we have historically seen.

The only way to get accepted is to apply. Good luck

thankyou nice post
