gpa 3.2
act 22(not a good test taker, but taking them again)
class rank top 30
from va
and good ec's

Which college ? Class rank is top 30 out of how many students ? Or is it 30% ?

Unless you’re applying to College for Education and Human Development, you don’t have a great shot right now. The average ACT for most of the colleges is at least 26. So get your ACT up to about 25 and your GPA as high as you can. If you can get those up, you may have a decent shot at CLA or the College of Design.

But to truly evaluate your chances… What grade are you? Which college are you applying to? Can you be more specific about your EC’s? Have you taken the SAT? Do you have a weighted GPA? How strong is your courseload?

My sats are 1140 out of 1600, and we have 550 people in my class

I’d say a reach for you. Will most likely be a rejection letter if you can’t up those test scores/rank.

Yeah, I’d say it’s a reach right now.

Reaccchhhhhhhh.

hey thanks for the truth though. i guess a lazy freshman year really has hurt me.

Yeah… I figure it’s best to hear brutal honesty with this stuff. But hey, we’re not admissions officers, so apply early (like NOW) and good luck!

i talked to the the admissions, and decided to stick with Iowa
