Chances..

My stats:
Ethnicity: Native American
Percentile: at school i'm in the top 10-15th percentile, somewhere in that
Grade point Average: 3.86 (unweighted) 4.1 (weighted)
I played soccer for three years, captain for two, lettered.
I am the editor-in-chief of my school paper, and have been on it three years, I was also the News editor and the Features editor as well as Writer of the Year
Also, I have been involved in school clubs like, Bible club, Link Crew, Key club, and Spanish Honors Society...etc.
I have taken three AP exams, passed all three, and I am taking an additional three this year

I am taking the SAT Oct 10, and the ACT Oct 24, for the SAT I am aiming for an 1800-2100 anywhere in that area considering how much more studying time I can fit in

I took two SAT subject tests
US history: 610
Literature:610

Intended Major: History and Political Science

Also, Oct 4 I am going to Dartmouth for a Native Bound program I got accepted into, that's my number one school but I am afraid my academic achievement is less than par for Dartmouth

Other schools I am thinking about are,
UC Berkeley
Northwestern
NYU
Columbia
Georgetown
Michigan State
San Francisco State
San Diego State

If you’re OOS, Berk will be harder to get into because they aren’t as focused on ec’s as they are on the hard numbers (sat, gpa, etc.)

Privates like Dartmouth and Stanford LOVE your URM, you’ve got a way better chance there as long as you score well on your SAT

well i am actually from california, but yeah i heard they are more focused on numbers and my science grades just weigh me down to much, but thanks for the feedback!

I think you’re in everywhere. With an ethnicity like Native American, you should try applying to HYPSM if you can bring that SAT up to a 2100+. Your SAT IIs drag you down though.

yeah my only problem is I always freeze up on big tests, nail practices, but when it comes to the real thing I mess up…I really think i’m getting over it though so we’ll see how october goes!

LOL, I’m the opposite… I don’t take practice tests seriously enough but I totally focus on the actual thing

I would make SAT study a priority. Shoot for a minimum of 2000. Dartmouth has a big commitment to Native American students, give the decent scores and you’ll have a great shot.

bump bump!

bump bump again!
