anyway, oos is really really competitive and while you do have really good stats, i just don’t think that they are good enough to get into UNC from oos. what’s your gpa unweighted?

it’s a 3.6 unweighted should I still try applying even if it is regular decision?

I think it might be a little difficult to get in because of your lack of APs, but you may make up for it in athletics. I’d still apply, but I wouldn’t pin your hopes on it.

Ok well if I got into UNC I would be thrilled Does anyone else have other opinions I just wanna know my chances and where I stand

I would apply, but I would definately have a backup, because to be honest, its tough to get in with a weighted GPA bellow 4.00 instate, much less out of state, plus I don’t believe that New Jersey applies the same insane weighting system that NC does (only 96+ is a 4.0/5.0/6.0), which would probably lower your GPA…

Instate = maybe / OOS = impossible - Sorry…

it’s kind of cruel that UNC-CH doesn’t publish a separate profile for OOS students. When you take out 80% in-state, recruited athletes, minority, international candidates and other hooks, that just leaves enough spaces for truly truly impressive OOS students.

To Clarify - All the students that get into UNC-CH are impressive.
