Chances?

Hello everyone! I'm new here and I would love to be chanced.

White female from CA
Very well-known, competitive private school (25% of last year's graduating class went to an Ivy/Stanford, average SAT is 2100)

SAT: 740/740/750 (superscore)
ACT: 34
SATII: Math 2 - 700, Spanish - 750, World History - 760

GPA: UW - 3.7, W - 4.4

No rankings

ECs:
Internship at consulate of a G-20 country (summer into 12th)
Co-founder and co-president of G2G (club at school that raises money to build girl's school in countries where girls have traditionally been left behind in education) (10-12)
Member of JSA (11-12)
Captain of equestrian team at school
Competitive horseback rider (won't go into details because I doubt none of you would understand, but I have many regional and national wins/awards) 15-20 hours/week (9-12)
Volunteering at riding/educational center for young inner-city girls (9-12)
Since I spend so much time riding and traveling to shows, I haven't had much time for other things

Awards:
Lots of equestrian awards
NMSF
100 Hours+ Community Service Award
My school's version of honor roll every semester

I'm sure that my recs were glowing and I'm definitely proud of my essays.

Major: International Relations

Schools -
Georgetown (EA)
UPenn
GWU
American
Tufts
Colgate
Brown
BU
Claremont McKenna
UCs (Berkeley, Davis, SB)
USC
Vassar
Yale
Northwestern
Kenyon
Macalester

If I get into Gtown EA (it's my top choice), then I will definitely trim down my list.

Georgetown (EA): Low Reach (I think you have a great shot!)
UPenn: Reasonable Reach
GWU: In
American: In
Tufts: Reasonable Reach
Colgate: Match
Brown: Reasonable - BIG Reach (the UW GPA hurts you a little)
BU: In
Claremont McKenna: Match-Reach
UCs (Berkeley, Davis, SB): Reasonable Reach, In, In
USC: Match-Reach
Vassar: Low Reach
Yale: Reasonable-BIG Reach (you’re on the lower end for them… which is typical for 96% of students, lol)
Northwestern: Safety-Match
Kenyon: Safety-Match
Macalester: Match-Reach

Your ACT’s/EC’s/Transcript/Background are all fantastic and will get you into 95% of these schools. Your UW GPA is a little of a killer, but understandable given your transcript. Recs and essays are good… shouldn’t be a problem and I think you have a great shot at Georgetown (50-60%)

Hope this helps!! Plz chance me back!!

I’d say you’re probably in for Georgetown. UPenn is a possibility, Yale is a huge stretch, and Brown is somewhere in between.

Thanks!

If I get into Georgetown, then I won’t apply to any of my safeties/low matches or any of the schools in CA.

Also, something that I forgot to mention is that I’m fluent in 3 languages (2 are native) and learning a 4th. I’m also a first-generation immigrant (became US citizen last year) with a very diverse and international background.

Georgetown (EA) – both of my parents went to georgetown, and my mom interviews there. they definitely look for dedication to at least a single activity, and you obviously have that. they also love leadership positions, and you definitely have an advantage coming from california and such a competitive school. that’s the only one i can speak for, but hoya saxa!

in general, though, you have a large advantage with the schools in the northeast, seeing as you are from CA. good luck!

Your gpa is a little low but I dont know the context since you have no rank. THat said, your SAT score is fantastic!

Georgetown (EA): Low Reach
UPenn: Reach
GWU: In
American: In
Tufts: Match
Colgate: Match
Brown: Low reach
BU: In
Claremont McKenna: High Match
UCs (Berkeley, Davis, SB): Berkely only mid-reach, others in
USC: Match
Vassar: Low Reach
Yale: high reach
Northwestern: Match
Kenyon: Match
Macalester: Match

Georgetown (EA) : Low Reach
UPenn: Low Reach (avg act is 31, you have a 34)
GWU: Match
American:
Tufts: Match
Colgate: Match
Brown: Match/ Low Reach
BU: In
Claremont McKenna: In
UCs (Berkeley, Davis, SB): Match, and easy in for the other two
USC: Match
Yale: High Reach
Northwestern: In

I deleted the schools I don’t know anything about!

I think you’re fine for most of those schools. You could get in to Yale or Brown but those are more of crapshoots. I would say in at GTown probably.

Georgetown (EA)- lowish-middish reach, very plausible
UPenn- mid reach
GWU- high match
American in
Tufts match
Colgate mid/high match
Brown mid-high reach
BU- highish match
Claremont McKenna high match
UCs (Berkeley, Davis, SB) low reach, match, in
USC match
Vassar high match
Yale high reach
Northwestern midreach
Kenyon match
Macalester high match

I still can’t figure out how many Ap’s, or if any IB classes you’ve taken.

Georgetown (EA)- decent
UPenn- reach
GWU- decent
American- very good chance
Tufts- decent
Colgate- very good chance
Brown- reach
BU- very good chance
Claremont McKenna - n/a
UCs (Berkeley, Davis, SB)- very good chance at one of uc’s
USC- reach
Vassar- n/a
Yale- reach
Northwestern- decent
Kenyon- n/a
Macalester- very good chance

Oh, I completely forgot to mention my curriculum. On my app, it’s checked as “most rigorous.”

No APs allowed freshman year
2 APs allowed sophomore year - I took Spanish Language (5)
4 APs allowed junior year - I took Calc AB (4), Chemistry (5), World History (5) and Spanish Lit (5)
4 APs allowed senior year - I’m taking Calc BC, Stat, English Lang, Physics B

Georgetown (EA): Low Reach… i see its really hard to get into, but with your stats AND EA… good sizable chance upgrade from high reach to low reach
UPenn: Reach, but as others say… its a reasonable one.
GWU: You got in… great honors and medical program. and intern (i don’t mean international, but like professional internship) program.
American: In
Tufts: I really don’t know =D
Colgate: Match
Brown: Reach (shifting slightly to unreasonable… like 1 gram out of 6000kg =D) your uw gpa might hurt you little, but your Ec’s are still GREAT.
BU: In
Claremont McKenna: IDK
UCs (Berkeley, Davis, SB): REach, In, In (sB IS SUCH A gREAT PLACE!!)
USC: match
Vassar: Low Reach
Yale: JUst like broWN
Northwestern: low reach
Kenyon: IDK =D
Macalester: IDK

Haha your Stats are great though. All these are my opinions, so i may have overestimated or underestimated these admission ‘chances.’ But I really do think you have great chances… in my opinon. Chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/810722-please-chance-me-these-colleges.html

Thank you!

Anyone else?

Bump???

Any other opinions?
