Very good essays (I think, because I had a tutor revise and help generate ideas. Talked about parents immigrating to America for education for the cultural essay prompt)
Applied end of October, still on the app status that says "we have recieved all materials blah blah"...been like that for 3 weeks now...<em>crosses fingers</em></p>

<p>A lot depends on your essays: both how well they are written and their content. Your gpa is below that of the average admitted student, but you have taken a fair amount of AP classes and went to a good high school, so that should help make up for it. Lucky for you, UW also doesn’t look at the SAT writing section, so that leaves you with an above average (for UW) 1320 / 1600. Community service is great to see of course, and first generation applicant will also give you a boost I’d imagine. And of course, applying early is also a point in your favor. </p>
<p>Altogether, I think you have a good shot. You’re not a shoo-in, but still a strong candidate.</p>
