chances

-GPA: 3.93
-SAT: 2080 (660 CR, 680 M, 740 W)... but I will probably just submit my ACT scores
-ACT: 31 (34 E, 29 M, 35 R, 27 S)
-AP classes: took 1 last year and currently taking 5 with one honors class (French 5 is not AP at my school for some reason)
-Extracurriculars: National Honor Society, French National Honor Society, National Charity League, independent volunteer work, Varsity track and field (javelin), ASA softball (club)
-Bad news: I'm a white girl
-Doubly bad news: I haven't visited or interviewed (the waiting list is so long!)
-Possible good news but not that great: I'm from Oregon

Advice? I appreciate honesty. I know this is a huge long shot because my scores don't especially cut it and I'm not sure I have the coach behind me for track. I think my essay is going to be pretty good though.

Thanks!

you sound a lot like me (minus the white girl part lol) but you sound pretty good. You should add a list of schools your applying to so people can see if you have a chance at those specific schools.

that could be a good idea
I applied early to Bowdoin but didn’t get in. I’m applying to Bates, Pitzer, Claremont McKenna, Puget Sound and so far that’s it…

being from oregon isn’t good news at all actually, although I wouldn’t call it bad news. There are many students at Pomona from Oregon, so if you were looking for that to be a hook I am sorry to say that it is not…

wantscollege, did you visit/interview at Bowdoin?
