I’m Caucasian, male, and a junior in high school. I’m within the 25% of our class, though this is hand-wavable, considering there are only a hundred kids in our grade, making movement nigh impossible.

PSAT
99th percentile Reading
84th percentile Math
96th percentile Writing

Average : 3.75

My weighted average is a 93. It would be higher, except I screwed around freshman year. Also remediable, however - I’ve been putting my nose to the grindstone since, and my grades steadily increased. I’m told a steady progression is as good or better than straight As through and through. Thoughts on this?

My schedule currently has two honors classes in it. I am part of my school’s Creative Writing Club, Drama Club, Varsity Tennis Team, Swing Choir and Medical Sciences Club. In my community, I’m part of the local Rotary Club, and I have around 200 hours in community service, 1/2-3/4 of which is from the local hospital, the rest from singing at school events and misc… I’m expecting glowing reccomendations from my Biology, Chemistry, Physics and possibly English teacher. I’ve won student of the month several times, though in choral music in P.E., and I’ve been on honor roll for a good while.

I’ve already initiated contact with Brown - I’m on their mailing list, Undergrad mailing list and facebook page, and I’ve emailed them several times with questions with their Ask a Student program, also emailing the head of the biology department, Dean Thompson, the major I intend to head into. I’m looking into premed.

This is an if to add if you so choose - I’m planning to apply to Columbia’s Science Honors Program on saturdays. I do not know whether I will get in or not, the exam reports are sketchy as to their difficulty. What do you think this will add?

This summer, I will be taking a pre-calc course and ACTs, after which I will take my senior year at the local community college, implementing our school’s bridge program, just in time to apply Early Decision to Brown. Our community college is held in fairly high regard, so I’m think there’s a good chance the APs will be accepted.

I can appear financially weak or strong as I so choose - my parents are legally separated, which is far as I’ll go on the subject, but together in supporting my bid for Brown.

So, CC. What are my chances?
