<3 Melissa

my weighted gpa is 102.76.

and i'm a middle class white girl from new jersey.

I think you have a good shot. What is the break down of your SAT?

Also, what are your SAT II scores?! Finally, do you have any AP results, that would help us to determine your chances......

thanks a lot motormouth. haha.

I would definately try taking the ACT for the following reasons:

It is totally up to you who sees these scores. If you do well you can send them to colleges, if not then don't. I would say it is well worth the $8 (I think) to not put any schools on the list to automatically get the scores. Once you see how you do then decide who to send it to.

Mny kids don't do that well on the SAT but do on the ACT. For some reason the way the ACT is set up is more straightforward and not trying to trip you up as much as the SAT.

If you do well on ACT almost all schools (except U. of California) will let you just send the ACT in place of SAT 1 and 2 SAT IIs. Why take 3 tests when you can just take 1.

As far as your chances at Tufts you certainly have a lot of extra-curriculars and your GPA is fine. It is all getting so competitive that no one could ever say who will and won't get in. My advice is to definately write the supplimental essay and make sure they know you are very interested. Send numberous e-mails to your areas recruiter, visit the school, etc. I think since many applications have the grades etc. showing interest is key.
