I'm an American junior in high school
Unweighted gpa: 3.6 :(
Weighted gpa: 3.8
One of the factors for my gpa is that I go to one of the most competitive public school in the US, probably top 5 in cali, but I suppose they won't know about that :(

ACT :32 , going to retake and -hoping- for at least a 33
SAT subjects: Chinese 790, Literature 780, US history 750; I'm going to take Math and Chem too.

I have quite a bit of extracurriculars but I don't suppose that's important for McGill.

As long as you don’t bomb your senior year I think you have an excellent chance at getting in. The averages are lower than all of your numbers I believe, it just depends on which faculty you apply to and which number they weigh the most.

I’m probably going to apply to either the Faculty of Management or Faculty of Arts and Sciences or both.
I forgot to add that I took AP US History got a 4 last year; this year I’m only taking AP Art History.
Next year I’m probably taking AP Poli Sci+ AP Econ and perhaps AP psych.
I know that’s not alot, would that hurt my chances?
My school doesn’t offer IB courses.

I have a GPA of 3.83 and taken a rather rigorous schedule
SAT’s of 690 reading, 650 math, and 570 writing.
SAT II’s of 790 Biology, 640 math II, and 610 physics
I got a 5 on the A.P. Biology test and I’m planning on taking A.P. Government and Politics
My application said further review was needed, but what are my chances of getting in?
I’m trying to get into the Faculty of Science.

Oh, and how does McGill look at the essay portion of the ACT?
I got a 6 out of 12 (i know, i know) but i got a 35 for the English, does it kinda balance out a bit?

seeing as mcgill doesnt require an essay in their app they make take it into account. though probably not, because canadian and international kids dont have essays either… don’t trust me on that though cause i dont have any facts as the essay portion is relatively new

why would you do management if you are going to to premed, just curious cause you could have applied to sciences, and arts & sciences. they wont let you take any premed courses in management fyi…though i know you only mean it as a backup

i think you have excellent chances, but it depends on when you applied and the makeup of the incoming class. the expectations and standards at mcgill increase every year as its reputation grows south of the border.

i think you have a very good chance, good luck
