Chances?

My situation is a little unusual. Here goes:

High School GPA: 2.1
SAT: N/A
EC's: smoking, getting caught smoking, making fake IDs, drinking

Anyway, i think you get the idea. I didn't do anything for a year after (barely) graduating. After that i enrolled at a community college and have now almost completed my two years. Here's where I am now:

College GPA: 4.0 (strong curriculum)
SAT: 800 R / 750 M / 800 W
Japanese - 800 (I'm white) Literature - 760
EC's: Not much to speak of, but I've got a lot of community service hours
Good Recommendations, no need for financial aid

Intended major is linguistics, and I made it clear in my essay that I have a genuine interest in it. Also, I checked the box next to "Is there anything you'd like to tell us about your previous academic performance?" and did a good job explaining myself (look at my new perspective from messing up all my life! i'm so mature!). I will be applying as a junior transfer for spring of '06.

I think if I've got any kind of chance, it'll be because of my essays. They're good, IMO. I know a lot of you probably don't know where to begin, but if you had to guess, what are my chances?

your college GPA is great, don't sweat it, I think you are golden

I applied as a Freshman so I'm not too familiar with the level of difficulty for transfer admissions, but it seems to me like you've definitely earned a spot. I would try not to focus on explaining high school so much as shifting the admissions officer's attention to your work in community college.
