Will Early Decision help?
I really want to go to Fordham. And can anyone compile a list of colleges that would further suit me, if Fordham looks at me funny

Dude, I would think you are totally in with that SAT!!!

Just get those grades up a bit. EA would probably be to your disadvantage if you hope to improve the GPA in the fall semester.

Do you have any intention of playing sports in college?
If you are a good basketball player you’re in :P

I applied and got into Fordham this year with a 2070 SAT and a 3.7 GPA. A few really good ECs, good work experience. No merit money off the bat when applying EA.
They seemed to be admitting very hollistically this year- looking at the person more than the numbers (obv the numbers still matter but you know). The SAT is fabulous for you, as are your ECs. if you can bring your gpa up you could get some nice money.
I also applied to my state school, NYU, BU, Brandeis, Tufts, and Northeastern.
I think I will end up at BU, however, many people who apply to Fordham also apply to other Jesuit schools, like BC, Holy Cross, etc.
I went to the Fordham accepted students day and they really sold me (had i not already been sold for being in boston), they love their students and are really committed to them. Think about schools like that.
Since Fordham only has about 9000 students or less, think about the size of the school as one of your deciding factors. It’s a long, long, long process. Make lists.

Thanks for the words!
I did intend to play basketball @ nyc
and @ lauren, I mean, I was looking at BU and Fordham, but fordham seems so inviting like you said

If you are good enough to play D1 I would get in contact with the athletics department and talk to them. Fordham is trying to build their basketball program and if you have a chance at being recruited they will help you through the admissions process, especially with your SAT’s.
