Appointed Member of the Honor Council for Senior Year
4 year member of math club (will be president as a senior)</p>
<p>Everything looks good, except that GPA. Where do you stand in terms of rank? That can provide some context to your grades though if your school doesn’t rank, colleges can roughly estimate based on whatever data your hs provides them with. If Amherst is your first choice and finaid won’t influence your final decision anyhow, definitely consider applying ED.</p>
<p>Your test scores are great! What’s your ethnicity? And are you applying ED or RD? And by “junior” do you mean rising junior? Are you class of '11 or '12?</p>
<p>No. You can call to check if you like, but if there’s a record of it on CollegeBoard’s site, that means it’s done and if the people at Amherst haven’t added your scores to your file, they should soon. When the application process is well under way, you’ll be able to see a record of submitted materials on Amherst’s website.</p>
<p>Have you checked in with the Amherst baseball coach and gotten yourself on his radar screen? If you feel that you are good enough to be an asset to that team, then connecting with the coach will work in your favor, if he is interested in you. While Amherst coaches don’t have enough clout to garner an acceptance for a candidate who clearly can’t cut it academically at Amherst, your grades and scores are certainly strong enough to put you in the running, even without the baseball “hook.” So, if you think the coach might be interested in you, be sure to make contact right away.</p>
