class rank is top 30% not sure of exact numbers. but i come from a school where we have about 700 per grade and is competitive

Quick reply now, can write more later when I have a little more time. I’d say your chances are good. ACT is competitive. Have you calculated what you RAI index is? If your RAI is low, you want to ask for an individual review, but I suspect your RAI will be fine with the number of credits you’ll have. Please re-post with your RAI, or at least class rank percentile.

Well, I’m not an expert on Iowa admissions, and things could change, but with an RAI close to 300, I believe you should not have any problems unless there are any red flags in your application like a missing required class, etc. Is that 296 with the 28 ACT?

By the way, sorry, I missed the % rank in your first post! Just noticed it when I re-read it.

Also, I agree no need to submit your SAT score, if your ACT is much stronger, especially since Iowa City is the home of the ACT.

you shouldn’t have a problem getting into Iowa with those. ACT at 28 is fine for Iowa, GPA at 3.1 is a little low but I’ve heard of people getting in with lower. not to mention you have a lot of EC’s and some pretty hard classes.
you should be fine IMO
