will have taken 3 APs by the time i graduate
havent taken sat2 yet

solid ec’s
around 100 hours as an assistant basketball coach
on nationally ranked high school volleyball team, and very competitive club team, this takes up like all of my time outside of school so i dont hav other great ec’s other than a few clubs im a member of

should i apply ed or rd?

thanks!

Thats tough, your ACT is about what I was, though you have more EC’s than I. GPA about the same, my HS didn’t use a weighted system. I applied ED first time around (as a senior in HS) and was denied.

Applied as a transfer student one year later, and was accepted. So it’s kinda up in the air. ED is more selective and I feel that if I had applied regular I would have had a better shot rather than taking my chances with the ED kids.

If your SAT II’s are very good, I would say then go for it, but if they are above average but not great then you may want to play it safe. Admissions is really a crap shoot sometimes. You get people going to BC who shouldn’t be there and then you get people who are denied that would have been great. Good luck with whatever you go with.

thanks for the input! can anyone else please chance me?

First, I’m not positive about this but I don’t think that Boston College has ED, they have early action (not binding) and regular decision. Nonetheless, EA at Boston college is very competitive and selective. If I remember correctly, there were tons of kids (with legacy too) that were differed/denied during the EA process that BC should have been a match for. If you are wary and not completely confident, definitely do RD to be on the safe side. If you did RD, I would say you had a pretty decent chance. Hope this helps a little bit.

thanks for the input, i plan on taking math 2 and the lit subject tests, i think id feel much safer applying regular, if i scored like and 800 or close to on both would it b worth a shot to try early action out? jw

bump…10char

I’d apply EA if I was you, it’s worth the risk. I got in EA with a weaker class schedule (school didn’t offer much, comparable ECs and a 32. Your class rank will be an important factor also

The problem is I’m only in the top 20% I had my counselor see what my rank would b if my freshman year was thrown out and I’d b just outside the top ten percent

bumppppppppp
