Chances

Played 4years of baseball, but I'm wondering my chances without the baseball scouting process.

I want to either major in some sort of pre-law, more like a contract law as I would like to go into the sports management field, but I know how limited a major sports management is so I want to try and minor in it or something. But, I may also want to major in broadcasting or journalism, I really am not sure, but it's down to these 4 subject.

GPA- 3.0
SAT- 1690 (retake in upcoming October) 600crit, 540math, 550writing

I was wondering my chances on the following schools:

UMass
UConn
UDelaware
UAlbany
Temple

thanks.

Sports management field is very vague. There is nothing limited about the SM major. It’s my major, and I’ve had plenty of options for internships and should have plenty of job opportunities in both the sports and tourism fields. If you mean being a sports agent, then yeah, find a new goal.

As far as your schools go:

UMass’ SM program=reach, otherwise, you’ll get in
UConn=reach
UDel=reach

Not really sure about Temple (where I go). Your GPA is below our average, but your SAT score is a little above our average last year. I think you’d get in if you applied early, but if you can raise your SATM to 570, you should be in.

I know nothing about UA.

Thanks, I was wondering what sort of internships you’ve gotten? I know Temple is a very strong school when it comes to sports management. My main concern is getting a good job out of college through sports management. Would you mind going into a further explanation of what kind of internships you’ve received and etc.

As far as my SATs, I think I could be able to raise up to about 1800, 640-650crit, 600math, 550-600writing. I want to try and raise my GPA up a little as well through first quarter of my sr year.

I would also add that I do come out of a very competative HS, failing in 75% in my school.

Right now, I’m interning with our athletic department. My junior internship will most likely be with the Phillies. After I graduate, I’m hoping to work in either Colorado or California. Our best connections in baseball are the Phillies, Pirates, Dodgers, and Rays. We also have connections with many minor league teams in Florida. In general, we have people working for all kinds of teams in sports: Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers, Knicks, Nets, Bobcats, Dodgers, Pirates, Rays, US Olympic Training Center in Colo. Springs, various minor league teams, various college athletics programs, etc.

WHat exactly does your work entail? For your internship I mean?

Anyone else chance me?

UMass
