Chances??

Hey, everyone! Ok so I used to think I had a pretty good shot of getting into the schools i wanted but after seeing some of these stellar profiles I'm not so sure because I definitely don't have as much as I probably should. If you could give me an honest opinion on the outlook that would be great!!! (However dismal it may be)

Schools I'm interested in:
University of Pittsburgh (OOS)
University of Virginia
University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (OOS)
Georgetown U
Clemson

If you could raise your SAT score, I could see you as a competitive applicant for schools more along the lines of Georgetown (i.e. Ivies), instead of just state schools. After all, you are a Valedictorian and your extracurriculars are solid. You will have an excellent shot to all the schools on your list, but shouldn’t be afraid to reach a little more.

If you can improve your SATs, you should get into all the schools on your list. Just like billabong said.

Thanks so much :)

How easy is the curriculum at your school that you can be a valedictorian and still get a 650 on the Math portion (arguably the easiest) of the SAT?

^There is no correlation between someone’s Math SAT score and their GPA. I have seen many Vals and Sals with disproportional SAT scores; this, too, does not mean that their schools are easy. Perhaps the OP is just not good at math.

Regardless of what the OP’s academic environment is like, she is still the Valedictorian, an achievement that schools will look very favorably upon.
