Chances

I promised myself I'd never post one of these, but I'm desperate. . .visited UF a few days ago and fell in love, but I know my chances aren't great.

Female, white, OOS (UF admissions reps say they're residency-blind in admissions).

GPA: ~3.7
9th: 3.2
10th: 3.8
11th: 4.0
(These are all "UF-calculated")

Have been at a competitive boarding school since sophomore year. Honors courses were not available to freshmen, two honors courses sophomore year, four honors and an AP junior year, three honors and two APs senior year. (We're only allowed to take five courses each year at my school, which I will explain somewhere in my application; I have always taken the most rigorous courseload I was allowed to take.)

SAT: 2260
790 W / 670 M / 800 W
(Not planning to retake, unless someone tells me that bumping up my math score to 700 would help me.)

Average extracurriculars; I'm hoping I will find inspiration to write a great essay, because I know that may be my only hope.

Basically...what are my chances with the very low GPA? 89% of students who applied last year with SAT scores between 2100-2400 were accepted, which gives me hope, but I know I could easily be in the 11% of underachievers who were rejected.

I think you have a great chance and your gpa looks about right plus an upward trend.

What is your overall gpa average?

SAT is strong I would not retake it either.

How many ec hours do you have?

My UF GPA is about a 3.7.

Not sure about hours, my ECs are kind of erratic (partially due to switching schools). Varsity gymnastics (9-10)
JV tennis (10)
JV basketball (10-11)
Varsity softball (11-12)
Choir (9-12)
Member of a few clubs, president of a club for a year, some community service

Yeah, if you’re not a Florida resident it might be a little difficult. Best of luck!
