I know my GPA is low. My SAT scores have been going up so I'm not worried about that. Do I have a chance at the colleges listed above? Also, can you suggest a few colleges as well?

Thank you SO much!

darwinishungry:

UCB/UCLA: Reach
UCD: Match
UCSC: Safe Match

east coast schools:

Mt. Holyoke: reach
Boston U: match
Bryn Mawr: slight reach
Williams: HUGE reach
Tufts: big reach
Syracuse: safety

williams and tufts are among the best schools in the country, and most applicants have scores above 2100

Wow! I took the Princetone review counselor-o-matic test and the last 5 schools (except U of Mich - my friend told me to consider that as well) appeared on my list. I got a 2050 on my latest practice test. does that help my chances for Mt. Holyoke and Bryn Mawr?

I go to Arcadia too! What a coincidence! Who are you?

Lol! Cool! I'd rather not state my name on this forum. It think it might be a little obvious since I'm the only senior girl who plays tuba. :-D

Bump! Can someone help me rate my chances or recommend me other schools?

You could be an excellent fit for Whitman (given your interest in debate especially) so you might want to give it a close look before making the ED commitment at Reed (ED can be a great relief if you are certain but it also narrows your access to merit scholarship offers in ways you may want to consider if financial aid is important). They definitely take a look at the "whole student" and I don't think your GPA would be as problematic as you suggest.

If you cannot visit, you should find out when they are visiting in your area. Their website will have a schedule for California area visits...Good luck...

Bump! Any and all information is most welcome!

Just raise SATs and the UCs should be matches/slight reaches.
