I'm a freshman at a top 10 LAC in Minnesota, and while it's been great for a lot of reasons, I've had loads of problems adjusting here as I'm an international student. Academically, it's been great, but socially, I'm quite unhappy here. Thus, I'm thinking of transferring.

-International Student (New Zealand citizen)
-HS in bangkok, 3.7 ish (Full IB Diploma)
-@ college, very close to a 4 so far, maybe a 3.89
-SAT- 2070- CR 630 M 730 W 710
-Didn't really do SAT 2
-Extras- HS Student Council President (sr yr), Treasurer (jr yr), cross country varsity, volunteered @ a hospital in summer, rotary, MUN (chair at conferences often), religius stuff, too... there's more but this is the main stuff
-Extras @ College- Alumni Annual Fund Student Caller, Choir, Acapella group (not easy to make btw), microfinance club

I'm thinking of going to a more urban place, preferably on the east coast, but will need some aid, about 15-20k

I'm thinkin of trying @ tufts, brandeis, brown... anywhere else good for me? thanks loads!

Brown will be near impossible unless you’ve achieved something extraordinary at college in a few short months.

Finding aid for an international transfer will be a feat. Look at schools on about the level of Carlton known to have money for intnls. Urban will be tough. I’m thinking schools like Bates and Colgate may be your best chance. Emory, USC and Vandy may be worth a try.
