Chances?

Are there just way too many geniuses at your HS, or do you have some bad grades? Or is it grade inflation in other people?
Seriously. Except for your class rank, you look good- a bit light on community service, and make that essay shine!

At the end of freshman year my GPA was a lackluster 3.2 uw. I didn’t have much motivation, and thought I could get by not studying for anything like I had done the last three years at my middle school. I barely got a B in honors bio. But I learned my lesson.

There is a clear upward trend in my GPA after freshman year. I got a 4.0 2nd semester sophomore year and continued getting good grades (though not all As) throughout junior year.

I never got a C, if that means anything.

And my essay is shining, according to my English teacher, counselor and librarian.

I think you have a decent chance, but better apply ED or have some safety schools. Show the love.

Hi!

I went to New Trier!

Midd LOVES the midwest! 9 kids from NT this past year are in my freshman class. You have great grades (I know how competitive your school is) – but make sure you stand out apart from just grades! Midd is all about being unique. They want the kids who cannot be replaced. If you’ve done something really cool (even if it’s really minor) mention it or write about it in your essay/elaboration.
If you have any questions, feel free to message me!

Good luck and I hope to see some more Chicago Representation!
