Hey Guys i am a junior at a public high school in Delaware. my question was that i got my first report card this year and i have a C (77) for my 1'st quarter semester this year in AP Biology. i am really worried on how this will affect my chances in getting into UD. i heard that UD only accepts 2 C's on your report card and then they will reject you. Do i need to have a conference about why i got a C in my starting year in AP Biology?

I think the most important thing you can do is improve that grade for the rest of the year. If necessary you can make a note about it in the application, especially if there is a good excuse for it. Not sure who you’d have the conference with.

Why do I feel like what you heard isn’t true… A C in an AP class is a LOT better than a C in a normal class. Every person is different and I believe I am right in saying that UD looks at everyone as an individual, they look at the course rigor, how they did in AP classes, etc.

On the UD website is the commitment to Delawareans. It lists in very specific detail what they expect and will accept from students from Delaware. Unlike OOS students, you can look at that and see exactly what you need to do.

I think the commitment to Delawareans only looks at final grades, not quarter grades. Just make sure you dont get a C as your semester average. Have you fulfilled all of your commitment to delawareans requirements?

I go to private school in Delaware and NOBODY has ever been rejected. Plenty of kids apply with 3 Cs a year, don’t fulfill the commitment to delawareans requirements and are still accepted. If you are instate and have decent SATs then I really wouldn’t worry.
