Your transcript is good, but if you're planning on doing engineering, you'll have to bring up that math IIc score...that test is graded on an easier curve, so that percentile might even fall below the avg. scorer.

Also, if languages are your strength (which they seem to be), then they won't help you if you apply with a plan to do a BSE major. A girl a few years ago applied for a biology degree and put "doctor" as her planned career...but her "hook" was her extensive knowledge of slavic languages. (She sounds like you, actually.) Since her "hook" had nothing to do with her intended major, she wasn't accepted.

well, actually, applying for princeton I basically put undecided. The little drop down boxes I put Bio and Chem engineering, but applied to the regular undergrad school

This is the mom. Just curious. How can you get into accelerated Physics without any honors sciences to back you up. also...how can you do statistics before taking pre-calc.

Our kids get into highschool with alegebra 1 already under their belts. Also, they usually enter high school at the Spanish 3 level.

Not that I am saying anything negatiave, but I think GPAs are unfair. Our school's curriculum is more advanced than other school's. Your GPA of 4.0 is to be commended but my daughters GPA of about 3.6 is a relflection of much more advanced classes. I only hope that the colleges recognize that (I mean really recognize it, not just doublespeak).

does anyone else think that comparing GPAs is unfair?

not only is GPA unfair, but i think class rank is unreasonable as well. true, it shows how good you are compared to others in the same context, but someone will a rank over 100 out of 600 in a highly academic school can work much harder than a valedictorian who came from some crappy school.

That's just how our school works, ok I's sorry it doesn'y make sense to you. But they have class restrictions, like only seniors can take AP Calc and AP Chem and pretty much all APs .

your scores are on the weaker side, especially on Writing and 2C. For your SAT 1's, although they are not gonna get you in, they won't kick you out either.

icymoon, i agree with you. Thats why standardized tests are so useful to put yourself in a real context. as well as awards and stuff beyond school.

So you think I won't get in because of my SAT scores? I think my essays are pretty good though. I dono. I don't think I'll get accepted. We shall see.

You know what's funny though? after the interview, I don't think I want to go there anymore. Not to say that it's not an amazing school, but I would rather go to U of Michigan, where I think I have an excellent shot at.
