S has similar stats. I believe you have a chance.

You have a shot. ACT is good but the subscores are kinda all over the place, GPA is slightly low, and SAT IIs are a bit low as well. But, your ECs are impressive.

If you are applying into A&S, then I would say you have a good shot. CSOM might be tough.

Dear Clairebear773 : Before you read our response, we ask that you stop here, return to the main message board and review the profile offered by RB3322. Once you read those stats, think about that profile and compare it to your own.

To my reading, they are nearly identical - both profiles at starting with a unweighted 3.6 range GPA, both are missing AP work in the sciences and mathematics - the difference is that you have demonstrated success in the English/History sequence.

Your ACT composite is fine although that 27 in Math is a solid bottom quartile performance. Your reading/writing scores of 36 are certainly intriguing and provided you are considering an application to the College of Arts and Sciences, these scores might be enough to carry your application over the threshold. Certainly, they are right on the bubble right now.

We like the couple of leadership roles you have such as with the Key Club. Now, to differentiate yourself, why has that role and the Key Club program made a difference to the school and community? Right now, it is a check list item - turn it into something that a reader will understand and therefore stamp you as a potential Class of 2015 candidate.

Varsity Basketball is nice, but it is one season from three - what is happening the rest of the year? How heavy is the Newspaper loading?

Do you have any honor societies (English for example) which can further augment your academic picture?

Your profile is comparitively stronger than the one referenced earlier in this chance-me however there are still some gaps that you can help to close and bolster your position.
