Increase your verbal score and focus on doing well on the SAT II's

Aren't there TOEFL requirements at these schools? I thought at least 290 was necessary to be considered.

No way. the highest toefl requirement in any university is 250. and about my very low verbal score, i wont even need putting it on my application in some universities such as MIT and Caltech, which dont require SAT scores for internationals. i have a year to go. What should i do to increase my acceptance chances at MIT and Caltech?

I get confused between the computer based on non-computer based versions of the TOEFL, sorry. If there is no SAT required, than do you need to take the ACT?

Baghdady-

Well your college board report will show your SAT I score to MIT. I suggest you take your SAT I again, and prepare for the Writing test. One reason, Caltech doesn't exempt internationals from taking any SAT I test. Same case for UC Berkeley, Cornell, and Carnegie Mellon.

Good Luck!!

EDIT: Yes, no need for writing. Just take the new SAT and try to get a high score (>2000).

get a better verbal score, that will kill you at most all of them.
