I am so confused! My family recently moved this summer; i went from a lower middle class suburb to one that is a bit higher. thus, the high schools in the areas are different, actually very different. My original high school offers an average number of classes; the new high school is awesome - it has all of these awesome ap classes i wish i could take (that would mean i wouldn't have to do an independent study of ap chem), and i have the chance to take eight classes instead of seven. my mom keeps pushing me to go to the new high school, but i don't know if i should. i mean, i am prez of two big clubs (maybe more) at my old school, captain of XCountry and the teachers all know me really well and know my full potential. i am afraid that by moving to a different hs, i will be missing out on my ecs and teacher recs that i desperately need to get into top notch colleges (john hopkins, uchicago, northwestern). plus, it will be my senior year...i want to graduate with my friends and stuff. what do you guys think...what would you do?

Stay in the same school. Even though it's your senior year just stay there since teachers know you the best. =]

^^I agree.

I agree too. It's not worth it for one stinking year. You'd lose more than you'd gain and it wouldn't impress any adcom that you went to a better school for one year :)

^^^Yeah^^^

Yea, I agree with everyone else. It's not as if going to a better school for just your senior year is going to help much anyways.

Stay. You'll not only have good recs from the teachers/counselor, but you'll also have lots of fun with your old friends.

I also think you should stay for reasons already mentioned above.

Hi! I go to an ostentatious American school in Europe. I don’t think I get enough opportunities for classes and extracurriculars (people really care more about going to clubs, average SAT is lower than 600 for each part, and colleges people get into are not those I’m aiming to). I was going to take a full IB Diploma here (my school doesn’t have all AP courses I want to take), but now I changed my mind and want to to a boarding high school in New England. There’s one month left until my Junior year, and I can go there inly for my Senior year. What do you think? Any suggestions? I’m international, by the way.
