Change in Conn's Study Abroad Policy?

I have heard through the grapevine that Conn is considering changing or has changed its study abroad policy so that students are no longer allowed to study abroad for more than 1 semester. The college website still has the old policy; do any current students or parents have information on this policy and the details (for example, if there's an exemption for language or IR students)?

definitely not true.

Not sure if anyone else is interested, but coincidentally, I was just talking to a colleague on the faculty at Conn and asked about this in passing. A fair number of students, including students majoring in foreign languages, were denied a full-year abroad earlier this spring. All the students that she knew appealled the denial and all got the full-year permission in the end.

Anyway, the controversy made clear the need for a policy review; the new chair for the faculty committee on study abroad seems determined to make some consistent policy decisions. My friend seemed cautiously optimistic that students who have a good reason, like language and international studies students will continue to be allowed to study abroad for a full year, but the underlying policy questions remain unresolved.
