Any comments from anyone there about what's happening in the administration?

I know my d has said a lot of students were unhappy about some changes that were being implemented. But I don't know that this played any role, really.

Hey she made it 12 years. I read the average tenure for a college president is 5 years. My own alma mater seems to be running through them constantly, in recent years.

Sort of a "no-win" job; too many powerful constituencies, can't please everybody and have limited power sometimes.

I suspect Oberlin will forge onward..

my professor talked about the President Nancy Dye stepping down at the end of this school year. He said that overall she has done a great job, but it was just time for her to go now. She did a great job building the First Year Seminar Program among other things. He also said that the change in leadership would not affect us (the students) and that we would not experience any "turbulence."

Administrative changes happen. It seems like it was time for her to move on. I am pleased that she has given enough advanced notice that the school will have adequate time to find a strong replacement. It saves the hassle of dealing with an interim administration.
