Is it hard to change your major after being accepted as a transfer? I realize I could call to ask, but I would like to see if anyone has successfully done that. I was accepted as an Individualized Studies major, but I don't think it would prepare me for medical school, as science based major would... What are your thoughts? Please let me know. Also, I don't know what classes to choose if I stay as an IS major. Advice, anyone???

As long as you can get all your classes done, you can change your major whenever.

Thanks! Do you know what’s the most popular major for pre-med?

Definitely biology and/or chemistry, but the requirements for those probably won’t be feasible for you as a transfer unless all of your credits transfer and you do summer school. As long as you get the requirements done for med school, it does not actually matter what you major in.

Thanks! Also, since I was accepted as an interdisciplinary studies major, would it be possible to take courses at the school of public health without joining the program?

One last question: are you required to take a placement test for any of the math or science courses?

Thanks! You’re very helpful
