TCNJ has recently emailed me saying that the major I chose to pursue (accounting) is nearly filled up, and that I would have a better chance of getting in if I switched majors. Should I switch to something like finance with the hopes of being able to switch to accounting once I’m accepted and take the chance of being stuck in a major I don’t necessarily want to be or should I just stay accounting now and take the chance of not being accepted? (Btw- TCNJ is my dream school)
You would need to find out if it would be possible to do an internal transfer into accounting once you are there.
first, did they offer you finance major spot? It is the hardest to get into in the biz school. If you can be finance major that’s a strong strong program. If however you have your heart set on accounting know it’s somewhat difficult to change after the fact , though you could minor in it.
It can be hard to say without knowing your stats, but my sister received the same email for her major (nursing), didn’t change and was accepted a few days ago. I wouldn’t give up hope
