I was admitted to UCLA's electrical engineering major, but I just found it hard to dual-major if I major in EE. So is it possible for me to change my major to economics or business economics on the orientation? As someone told me undergraduate business major lacks depth in knowledge, I would like to know if it is the same in UCLA's business economics?

as you’ll hear from many, UCLA’s business economics isn’t like an undergraduate business major at all. its more theoretical with a tinge of finance. with that said, there is definitely a large contingent of business economics majors in internships/go to company visits/etc.

but for your first question, make sure you really, really want to switch out of EE. its difficulty to switch into the engineering school so its a one way street. if you’re sure though, the switch from EE to “pre” business economics is painless at orientation.

just remember that you have to start as a premajor for business economics. you’ll have to get a certain gpa in the lower divs and apply to get in (pretty much have the GPA or not, nowhere near as hard as HASS), but if you study hard you’ll be fine

thanks so much! you are way too professional
