Hello again I have been already admitted into Cockrell for Architectural Engineering however I actually wanted to major in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. I saw that on the MyStatus page the change majors option has opened up and I wanted to know how this process works. Would I be able to change my major to Mechanical or Electrical without a problem since I am already admitted into engineering? Also if I don’t get to change majors does that mean I lose my acceptance into Architectural Engineering?
I also have similar questions, sorry don’t mean to hijack thread.
I was admitted for Electrical and computer engineering but I wanted to do CS. I did not put CS on my application(an accident… lol, I applied to every other school for cs). I submitted an appeal about a month ago to change my major as well. I requested a major change via the tool that opened up today, and am also wondering about how it works.
My son did it last year and was declined. Basically you just click that you want to switch and what you want to switch to. They will give you an answer in a couple of weeks or so. There’s nothing additional you submit or anything.
@rach98n if you get declined, do you lose your acceptance or does it just place you back into the major you were accepted for.
yes, you go back to the major you were accepted to. It does not hurt you to try. At least it didn’t last year…to be 100% certain, I would call and verify. i don’t want to tell you anything from prior experience that might hurt you!
