What schools do I seem to fit into at the moment?

So far what are my chances of getting into Stanford, UCLA, UCSD, Harvard, Brown, Princeton, UChicago, and UPenn? PLEASE HELP CHANGE ME. I really want to get into these schools

I'm definitely getting straight A's all of junior and senior year because I'm actually going to be enrolled in classes that I enjoy. Is there a chance that they might overlook my terrible sophomore transcript? I know that I want to go into political science, and my bad grades were in math/science. And how much weight does the personal essay have?

I don’t want to change you. You seem to be doing great in school and your family and friends would probably miss the old “you” of anyone were to change you permanently. :)

As far as your chances in those schools, all I will say now is that colleges love upward grade trends, and you certainly have excellent standardized test scores.

Colleges often mainly look at your Junior year, so it’s best to keep your word of having straight A’s. Usually if they see an upward trend in your grades, then that should help you. I wouldn’t change you. I think your doing fine academically. :)

And personal essays have a LOT of weight. There have been many students who had straight A’s all their lives, participated in JV and Varsity sports all their high school years, been officers in numerous clubs… yet were rejected by certain prestigious schools because they lacked a lot of passion in their essays. You just have to remember that there are thousands of students who can do what you can do, so what you have to do differently is make your personal essay unique. Make them find out about you personally.

I’m not going to CHANGE you, but I’ll CHANCE you, if that’s alright with you. You seriously need to bring up your grades; Bs don’t look good to the top schools and a C would be awful. But everything else looks good. But honestly, it’s a crapshoot at the top schools. I know of idiots who get accepted and geniuses who get rejected.

Yeah I’m definitely going to have to bring up my grades. I just have a feeling that it’s not going to be that good for 2nd semester this year. But I made sure to make changes to my schedule junior/senior year so then I wouldn’t be taking math/science courses that would be too much of a challenge for me (AP classes should be challenging, but I’m taking Bio again to get an 800 on that SAT and cause I love biology too)
