Change of major from L&S to engineering?

I'm a second year physics student trying to transfer into aerospace engineering. I submitted my application last quarter, but I don't know my odds of getting in. My math and sciences GPA is just a hair above 3.5. Since that's the minimum requirement just for being considered for transferring into engineering, how are the odds?

you could always set up an appt with the department adviser and ask…

If you don’t mind, how hard was it (like effort) to achieve just the 3.5?

Manage your time well, not difficult at all. Also depends on the professor. If you’re curious, this is my GPA for physics 1A-1C, math 32A-33B, and chem 20A-20B, i.e. 9 classes total. Overall GPA is just slightly higher than this.

Thanks! Haha. I hope you get the major transfer!! Did you take/pass AP Physics, Calc BC, or Chem? Or did you just decide to take the beginning courses again or did they not fulfill the course credit? o:

Only one that really mattered was Calc BC. I got a 5 on that and the Calc AB subscore, so that allowed me to get right into math 32A. If you didn’t get that, then I think you’ll have to take a placement exam that can place you up to either 31A or 31B, not entirely sure which one. Chem 20A is quantum mechanics, which I’ve heard isn’t too related to AP Chem. 20B is ideal gases, thermodynamics, equilibrium, acid/base, etc. which is more in line with AP Chem. Also, I think you need to have completed 31B in order to take the physics 1 series. I think 31B is a pre/co-requisite for the chem 20 series too.

Don’t know how AP Chem or AP Physics factors into that, but I know for sure AP Physics B will do you no good.
